I think it is safe to stay, that this year hasn’t really been going as planned; bed rest, foot surgery, and now COVID lockdown. Despite everything, the only way we can stay mentally healthy is to try and keep some aspect of our ‘old’ lives in tact as we navigate what is to come, together. So I wanted to make a list of all my favourite products that I have been using, or just bought, this month. Hopefully to inspire you to either treat yourself to something new or remind you to set aside a moment just for yourself, however that might look for you, because everyone deserves a little loving from time to time.
So here is a list of my favourite products I have been using this month that I think you might enjoy too!
Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm
This beauty is a tried and true favourite and holds a SkinSafe Top Allergen Free Badge (read more about SkinSafe here)! If you are someone who still finds yourself getting blemishes even after you’ve cleansed your face, this might be something you may want to consider! To be honest, when I first tried it, I was a bit confused on how it worked because it starts off as a balm but the progresses to more of an oil base (don’t worry, it is not). It is definitely something you need to try but either way, it is worth all the hype and reviews! It has been the only product that I have tried that successfully removes all my makeup and sunscreen without drying out my skin. I don’t think I will ever go back to using makeup wipes because this nourishing balm penetrates much deeper into my pours, then a makeup wipe ever could.
LOVASKIN Foot Kit
Now this little gem is in a league of its own! Definitely add this to your weekly at home spa treatments and you won’t regret it! I have the world’s worst feet (I know, I’m sorry) and being a runner sure doesn’t help things either. But this little kit is next level. All you have to do is spray your feet with the foot peel, let it sit for a minute or so, then scrub away. And when I say it takes everything off, I mean it takes everything off! I even suffer from splitting heels, and this has helped me keep it under control, it’s incredible! If you want to try one thing from this list, this would be the one!
Hourglass Arch Brow Micro Sculpting Pencil
I have been a fan of the original Arch Pencil for years, but always felt that it needed to come with a sharper to keep its shape. I only say this because I prefer a more precise pencil (since I am naturally very fair, I don’t have much to work with)! Then, I accidentally purchased the micro version and it was exactly what I had been missing! The product tip is so small it gives you consistent brush strokes! This would be ideal for someone who is looking for precision to fill in or create a shape, with a more natural finish in mind! If your are like me, then this will be your forever pencil!
Oligo Professional Calura Moisture Balance Shampoo and Conditioner.
This combo was actually recommended to me not too long ago, as I was looking for a new gluten free product line to try (more gluten free recommendations here). This brand is vegan, gluten free, paraban free, sulfate free, colour safe, and made with no artificial colours. I was told that their conditioner alone, is worth the switch over. So I gave it a try and haven’t looked back since! My hair feels so much stronger with an added shine that I absolutely love! Since it doesn’t seem like I will be going to the salon anytime soon, this has been a great addition to my hair care family! Definitely a must try my loves!
Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in the colour ‘Earth’quake’
I have been enjoying a very minimal, all natural, makeup look lately and this gel liner has become a staple in my collection! I purchased it last month at the Sephora Sale and I have been getting so many compliments every time I wear it! It is easy to get accustomed too, glides on oh-so-smoothly, and for an all natural look, it buffs out extremely well. For an all natural look, I have been adding a very small amount to just the outer 1/3 of my lash line, then I use a square eyeliner brush (I use this one but any one will do) to diffuse the eyeliner into a winged look. It is so subtle, yet elegant. I have been getting so many compliments on it, I just had to share it with you! The creamy formula, drys quickly, but it is the best for creating a soft, natural, look.
There are so many great ways we can pamper and show ourselves some love. I hope this inspires you to try something new and if you have any favourites that you cannot live without, leave them in the comments down below! You know I am always looking for new things!
